A static site. Here's what's under the hood.
// stack
- Astro 7, static output. Content for the writing section lives in Markdown files.
- Hosted on Vercel. The visitor counter is the one serverless function (details).
- System fonts only. No web fonts are downloaded.
// design
- "Flight Log": a near-black page with one amber accent, monospace labels, and mission-log framing.
- Reveal-on-scroll animation is a CSS-only progressive enhancement and respects reduced-motion settings.
- A print stylesheet switches to dark text on a light background and shows link addresses.
// privacy and security
- No analytics, trackers, or cookies. See privacy.
- A strict Content Security Policy. Inline scripts are allowed only by hash, and the build fails if a hash drifts.
- The visitor counter is a server-rendered SVG, not a script.
- The guestbook uses giscus, backed by GitHub Discussions, and loads only on that page.
// performance and access
- Zero client JavaScript beyond the Astro view-transition router (and giscus on the guestbook).
- Accessibility target: WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Feeds: RSS and JSON Feed, full content.
