I grew up the oldest of seven kids, moving constantly while my dad was alive — always the new kid, never anywhere long enough to build much of a social life. That made me self-reliant and a little introverted, more comfortable building things than working a room.

The Marine Corps gave me structure and belonging. I served as a Sergeant from 2013 to 2018, boot camp at MCRD San Diego. After I got out I jumped straight into contracting, and these days I fly the ScanEagle as a UAS operator — which means a lot of months overseas every year.

I've tracked my net worth since high school; being disciplined with money is something Charlotte and I have always shared. I married my best friend in 2021, and we're raising our crew up here in the Minnesota lakes with three rescued Cane Corsos underfoot.

The long game: build Nova into something self-sufficient so I can trade the deployments for being home with my kids.
